McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton led from lap four to win his first British Grand Prix and make it a three-way tie at the top of the the world drivers' championship. The Briton finished over a minute ahead of Nick Heidfeld's BMW Sauber in an eventful race of spins and near misses at a rain-soaked Silverstone. Honda's Rubens Barrichello finished third and earned his first podium position in four years. Force India’s Giancarlo Fisichella and Adrian Sutil failed to finish the race.
